Welcome to the Sunday Sunshine Blog Hop!

Hello!

Glad you came!

We feel like we’ve been transported back into Winter! Brr! Snow today and sleet happened! Our church had a lovely children-led singing program celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. They did a great job and we were all blessed.

The rest of the day included some downtime, where we all rested for a couple of hours. I entertained myself by watching kittens, and may have nodded off for a few delicious moments! Then, while the others rested, I spent some time with my Prismacolors and Bible Inspirations coloring book. If you’ve not tried coloring to relax, it’s actually a nice past time. You can listen to audio messages at the same time. I used to color a lot in college when the week was finished!

I love the encouraging Bible verses to color

For vespers at church, we listened to the testimony of a young lady—a guest speaker who shared her passion for the youth. I didn’t realize that she was only seventeen years of age! She challenged them (and all of us) to persist with God and get to know Him. Our youth were quiet, but I believe they were listening. her name was Oceana, and she shared her experiences from feeling inadequate and rejected by her peers. No amount of designer clothes or compromises could bring her the sense of worth she finally found when spending time out in the mountains and in her prayer closet, learning to talk with God for herself. ♥️ She encouraged us all to try the War Room approach, and to talk to God out in Nature. It made me want to revisit my resolve for my own War Room, even in our small space. Make a War Room Prayer Closet— Even in a Tiny Space!

Game night followed for the kids to get some good recreation in the gym, and fellowship for all! A good Sabbath.

Oh— after church we shared potluck. I made soup and took crackers with my Salted Caramel Dessert Hummus. That seemed to be a surprise and delight to many when they tasted the spread. At least seven people requested the recipe, and I was happy to share! This opened up the door to several conversations on plant based foods! I just love to eat it! I served it with wheat crackers at lunch, then spread the leftovers onto graham crackers at the evening time! The adults told me to just save the graham cracker sandwiches for them and let the kids have other food! You can see the recipe with the above link and in the plant based food section of my blog.

  3. Oh, I love coloring for stress relief and relaxation! I never thought to listen to my audiobooks while doing it though. That is a most excellent idea! Your Bible coloring pages are so beautiful. And I am going to check out your Salted Caramel Dessert Hummus recipe now. Yum. I make a chocolate chip cookie dough hummus, but I love salted caramel so I will need to try that!
