Homestead Blog Hop!

Raise your hand if you’re happy it’s Fall! Me!

Raise your hand if you’ve got crisp, cool mornings! Me!

Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year! It’s invigorating, beautiful, and inspiring to me.

We still have flowers but not as much heat! We have a little garden carry-over from the Summer, but it’s not as demanding! Driving down a country road with the wildflowers waving is very pleasant, and it makes me want to be outside more and more!

Speaking of outside…our family did something this past weekend I thought I’d never do, yet here I am, still alive!

Couple holding hands while zip lining in mountains
Yep, that’s me!

We went zip-lining!

And when I say zip-lining, I mean, why not just make it super terrifying by doing the longest and highest one around?

I will say that it was a wonderful and enjoyable experience, all but the actual zipping down the wire! I loved being outside with my family, and the views were phenomenal! We got a nature hike, met some fun folks, and it was a great family day.

The super long zip line (we are talking 3600 feet and 400 feet up there at 66 mph) got me! I was seriously terrified, and I don’t mean in a “that was cool” way. More like I was crying and hyperventilating all the way through that ride. I was just glad to have my feet on terra firma at the end. I enjoyed the shorter rides more, yet was still really scared. My family, however, lived it all, for which I am very glad. Like I said, I enjoyed the whole experience and am glad we did it. Not sure I’d put myself through that again, but who knows?

Have you ever gone zip-lining?

Family zip-lining and giving thumbs up sign.
This is us after I survived that long ride.

Hope your day goes great! I’m keeping my feet in the ground!

Laurie

  2. Wow how brave & courageous are you! I have been on what we call here in Australia a ‘Flying Fox’ which is a zipline over any distance that it is in length. It was not the height nor distance of the one you have just been on though, no where near it but it was fun!
    Thank you for hosting Laurie.
    Blessings, Jennifer
