On a Personal Note
Last week about this time I did something spontaneous, but not entirely out of character for me.
Someone in our town found a tiny little puff ball of a cat in the middle of our main highway through town. They believe that the little kitten climbed up inside somebody’s car and inadvertently hitch a ride. When he couldn’t hold on any longer, he dropped out into the road. The lady rescued him from the traffic, and since he needed a home, I raised my hand to volunteer.
I really assumed that someone else would have taken him, so I didn’t really worry about telling her that she could contact me if she couldn’t find anybody. And said that’s how I ended up with this little orange fluff ball.
AdAt first, he spent his time hiding up in our recliner. He was just a shell shocked from his wild ride, but now, almost a week later he’s acting much more like a funny little kitten, popping out and running around all over the place.
The one funny thing about him is that he hardly ever meows. I’ve heard him squeak a few times, but he doesn’t beg for food and he’s just really sweet. I do believe he thinks I’m his mama.
Of course, our other cats are not thrilled with him yet, but I think they’ll come around
My husband started calling him Corn Pop, so the funny little cat has gotten a funny little name.
I certainly didn’t plan to get another cat, and we don’t really need one, but he is filling our days with joy and shaking up the routine around here.
Corn Pop loves to burrow inside things and under things, like my crocheting bag, and he still spends all of his nap time up inside the recliner, coming out when I call him.
We have plenty of other things going on around the Homestead, but that’s the most fun thing currently for me.
