On a Personal Note:

It’s feeling like Fall, almost freezing at nights, and we’re closing up the garden in stages.

Last week I dug up our sweet potatoes that we grew from slips we made. While we didn’t get a ton, we got enough for a little while and I’m glad that now I know we can grow our own slips if we want to.

I’m working on digging potatoes, which is a little slow, but I’m looking forward to seeing how they grew! So far they’re small, and it tells me our soil does need some work.

This week we’ve got an excavator here working on some projects to make our homestead more productive and less of a pain when it rains. Greg used a jackhammer along the driveway to break up the rocks preventing water from draining, which should help the driveway when it rains.

More dirt work today! It’s exciting to see big things happen.

Have a great day!

  6. By joining the Homestead Blog Hop, you grant the hosts permission to use one image from your post, with a link back to your site, if your post is selected as a feature next week.
