Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!

Good morning to all!

To inspire you, I will share with you a book I am listening to right now. The 5-Second Rule, by Mel Robbins

5 Second Rule book cover

I have recently been told that I do not follow through on things. I have lots of ideas, but less output.

I can agree with that. I do have a lot of ideas, many of which I try. With life, some things have to fall by the wayside, and some do not. I do not always know which ones to keep and which to leave. I tend to try to manage more than my share.

Because of this, sometimes I simply freeze and can’t get going, aware that I will not be able to do everything well.

While this book does not really help me to know which to keep and which to leave, it does offer one little tip to just get going, and that is the 5 Second Rule. Count backwards like at a rocket launch and when you get to zero, get moving.

It sounds rather silly, but for me, it has helped a bit. Today, I did not hesitate long enough to talk myself out of getting out into the sunshine to take a walk. I jumped on the trampoline, and did some off grid water systems troubleshooting. It felt productive, and now I can work with oxygen in my brain.

I don’t agree with everything in the book, but there are many things I have found very relatable.

With that, I leave you to the blog hop!

Have a great day!

Laurie
