Choosing Our Bathroom Tile

So…

Unless you’ve tackled a few DIY projects, you may not understand the relief/excitement/exhaustion that I feel since we got our bathroom shower tile decided on today, and ordered! It’s huge!

Our cabin project is moving along title by little.

Greg gave me the gift of a shower for Christmas. I got to pick out everything! imagine that!

I don’t make quick decisions; mine are usually agonizingly slow. Not this time. I narrowed it down pretty fast once he told me to choose.

I did waffle about trim and flooring details. I kind of short-circuited yesterday. Just too much weighing me down, and I became paralyzed with indecision. Finally, I asked everyoneGreg, the boys, and the lady at Home Depot and we all got it figured out.

In the end, we went with a simple floor tile, no trim tile, just the narrow edging, and that made it easier.

I know my taste is unique to me–I don’t like cookie cutter decoration. 🤷‍♀️

Our main tile: It’s a mix of colors. Each tile is kind of unique. Lots of variation between each tile.

We will use the coordinating tiles as a pattern around the top about 2/3 of the way up. I plan to do 2-3 rows of the floral motifs. They kind of remind me of crochet lace. These tiles come from Lowe’s

We needed something calm to balance out all of the variation in colors on the walls. I believe we will like it. We should begin next week on installing it. We found a guy who doesn’t mind if the boys help out to learn, so that’s cool. The floor tiles are from Home Depot.

This may not sound like much, but if you knew the issues on our minds, you’d understand that even making some decisions is progress. I’m counting the little things and taking it day by day.

Dad is on comfort care now. He’s declining a lot. It makes me long for the time of no more pain.

Thank you for coming to participate.

God bless your week.

Laurie

  3. We remolded our home before we moved and my son and I picked everything out together. It was fun but overwhelming at times. As for the tile you picked I liked it a lot. I also enjoyed the Blog Hop and checking out the Blogs. Have a good day and I look forward to seeing were the #UBC takes you.
