Pink Lady’s Slippers at Ridge Haven

Pink Lady’s Slipper orchid

We’ve been taking plenty of nature walks recently around Ridge Haven.  See this post from my homeschool blog to hear about one of our recent walks

Every week seems to bring new treasures from Nature. First we had the Trailing Arbutus to delight us with its vintage perfume. Slowly, the Dwarf Crested Irises have appeared. Now…if you’re persistent, and if you look in the right corner of the woods, you will find the Pink Lady’s Slipper, our native orchid.

If you have never seen a Pink Lady’s Slipper, to search will be worth your time, in my nature-loving opinion! If you have seen one, you will never forget it’s graceful beauty.

Waiting for you

We’ve all gotten out these past days to search some out! They’re out there–just waiting to be stumbled upon!

I hope you find one in your neck of the woods!
